The Euclid Symphony Orchestra has a long and proud history of sharing the value and joy of music with Euclid public and parochial school children in grades 3-6. The Children’s Concert dates back to 2003 and has remained a central focus of the Orchestra’s activities. Today, with the support of generous individual and business partners, the Orchestra’s community program reaches more than 1,000 Euclid school children every May.

The purpose of the Children’s Concert is to help foster a love of music and a lifetime of involvement with the musical arts. The Euclid Board of Education provides the school buses to deliver the children to the Shore Cultural Centre, although some schools have been known to walk the distance.

This season’s children’s concerts are scheduled for a Thursday in May of 2016. With so many attending, two performances are scheduled, one at 9:45 A.M. and the second at 11:00 A.M. (invitation only)

There have been countless studies proving the positive effect of music on the human brain and for many young people these concerts will be their only exposure to the wonderful world of classical music.  For some, it may open and inspire a whole new world!

The children’s concerts will have programs specifically designed for young students and will also include audience participation.  We have the ability to seat 1800 students.
